Memories
In the stormy color of your eyes, I drown
The turbulent waves pushing me under
Drowning in their torrent depths
I lift my head and draw my last breath
I watch as each lost moment in those eyes
Voice every memory your lips couldn't
The days when the glistening blue of your eyes
Would mimic clear skies and ocean floors
Reminding me of forgotten imprints left in the sand
And chasing waves with hands bound
The blended green of your eyes
Glinting with mischief and secrets left unsaid
Bringing me back to freshly cut grass
And laying underneath shaded canopies
The hidden hazel flecks
Spattered wildly and haphazardly
Each fleck like strokes of a paintbrush on a crowded canvas
And golden sunsets laying with you
Your eyes close,
And the pain of their absence hits harder
As you leave to venture
My only wish is that the stormy waves of your eyes
Could push me underneath once more
And make me relieve
All those forgotten memories.
