REVIEW SYSTEM
So right now, seeing as I am still a small review site that just got started, I doubt I will be getting offers for ARCs, however if such an opportunity does present itself, I am more than happy to accept electronic ARCs and published books in exchange for a review to be posted on the A Plethora of Books blog. Just contact me through the Contacts page or email me at aplethoraofbooks21@gmail.com for more information.
The way that my reviews are set up is to provide a general plot summary of the book as well as providing the Book title and the Author's name. I then go ahead to state the good, the bad and the mediocre about each book. Disclaimer: All opinions for books that I review are entirely my own, and I try to be as fair as I can be when giving reviews.
RATING SYSTEM
I decided to go with the goodreads rating system of 5 stars. Again, the reviews and ratings that I give books are strictly my opinion. Sometimes what does it for me, is not for others and what does it for others is not for me. I try to be as fair and reasonable with my reviews without completely bashing an author's work.
5 stars: Means it's automatically going on my reread pile. I would recommend it to anyone that so much as breathes in my general direction. It's an absolute favourite of mine, and pretty much has zero faults
4 stars: Means I loved the book, it had some flaws but that could be overlooked. It's not an instant reread but it's a book that might be reread later down the line. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others, but I won't be raving about it or anything
3 stars: Means I liked it. Didn't love it, but didn't dislike it either. Writing is average, characters are average. I wouldn't really recommend it to others but I won't be talking bad about it anytime soon either
2 stars: Means I barely got through the book. I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it either. Has a lot of flaws and overall the experience wasn't great.
1 star: Pretty much didn't finish (DNF). Struggled to get through it, and ultimately didn't win. If I could give it 0 stars I probably would. I rarely give 1 stars because I've probably already quit the book, but some books are so bad I feel the need to go rate it even if I don't finish it.
